Horton-in-Ribblesdale station.
Last weekend’s travel plans… Well, they didn’t quite work out although I got there in the end.
What I will say is that the scenery was absolutely stunning. I was travelling from Leeds to Glasgow, and the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle train line is the most scenic I have ever been on. The moors, the mountains, the rivers and the streams… There were horses, sheep, cows, beautiful houses and picturesque stations. It’s hard to believe that such stops are still in operation, considering that we live in a time when almost everything that’s small and out of the way is considered financially non-viable.
If you’re ever in the area, I strongly recommend it.
