I know that the world at large has moved on to streaming. People watch Netflix and Amazon Prime and whatnot. In rural Ireland, however, it’s a different story. We don’t have fibre broadband, and the broadband that we have is slow in comparison to what I’ve heard of other people getting. We also have to worry about download limits.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m completely happy with the broadband that I have, and my partner and I download and stream the odd film and episode, but it’s mostly at times when we missed the first episode of a show or we want to see a brand new movie. It’s more of an exception than a rule. We have satellite TV with lots of channels to choose from, and we don’t miss anything else.
We also have hundreds of DVDs as you can see. We love buying a boxset and binging on it, and we also love watching them again and again - if they’re good, of course.
You can call me old-fashioned, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
