This is my oldest, Benny, doing agility recently.
He’s 13 now, closer to 14. He’s mostly deaf, but apart from that, he’s in great health and loving life. He still does a bit of agility. I only do short sessions with him with the jumps on the ground, and he enjoys it.
There are some who will say that a dog his age should no longer do agility, but when I get to a ripe old age - which hopefully I will - I still want to do things I enjoy, and I don’t want anyone telling me that I can’t because of my age. Perhaps I will have to lower my expectations and modify those activities, but if I still want to do agility in my seventies or eighties and my body allows, please don’t tell me to stop.
In the eternal words of Queen, “Don't stop me now 'cause I'm having a good time.”
