Travelling in style - it’s not really something I do.

On a recent trip to England, I needed to get from Gatwick airport to Tunbridge Wells. Public transport was inconvenient as it required going to London itself and then back down to Tunbridge Wells, and we were under some time pressure. A cab ended up costing just a few quid more and was much quicker. What’s more, once we were on our way, the scenery was stunning. I now understand why Kent is called the Garden of England.

We travelled in style in a brand new Mercedes-Benz E-Class - only to be dropped off outside the local Travelodge. In case you are not familiar with the brand, Travelodge is a budget hotel chain. Don’t get me wrong - their rooms and premises are perfectly comfortable, but they’re not quite in line with the image of being chauffeured around in a Merc! We had quite a giggle about it afterwards.
