After our previous cat, Lucas, went missing in early June, we waited several months in the vain hope that he would turn up. It appears that our next-door neighbour was right and he was taken by a fox. That’s not a worthy ending to such a magnificent cat, and I feel like I let him down, but eventually, we gave in and got a new kitten.
Meet Vernon. He’s got some big boots to fill, but he is a cutie, and the adoration between him and our youngest Dog, Dexter, is mutual.
