Amid all this madness, spring is coming - slowly but surely.

It’s very late in Ireland. Daffodils are only starting to sprout up, it’s raining constantly, and we’ve had snow, sleet and hail all in the last few days. At least lambs are being born, and that’s probably my favourite sign of spring. They are so cute.

Unfortunately, all the flooding has led to swans getting cosy at all these fake lakes and ponds that will be gone once the weather dries up. I feel bad for them and worry about them, in case they start nesting and their little ones are then lost when the water is gone. I’m not sure how long it takes for cygnets to learn to fly, but I imagine it takes a few weeks. At least there are animal rescues that will be able to help if needed.
