How I love this album!
We go back a long time, Prime STH and I. I discovered this song when it first came out, and my sister had a physical copy of the album, Underneath the Surface. Then our lives went our separate ways, she kept her copy, and I couldn’t get one because the album was out of print.
By sheer coincidence, my sister shared this video on Facebook recently as part of a challenge, and we started talking about the album and how I haven’t got a copy. A few days later, a CD landed in my mailbox. My sister had looked it up on Amazon, found it available again and ordered me a copy.
I have since rekindled my love for this band, and they’re amazing! I love the singer’s voice - by now, you probably see a pattern here.
What you might not know is that this song is actually written by Max Martin, who’s best known for writing pop songs for the likes of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys. It’s amazing that the same person can turn his hand to pop hits and still write respectable rock songs. I guess if you’ve got it, you’ve got it.
