My hometown in Finland celebrates our national poet J.L. Runeberg every year with a week of festivities. This year, events are virtual or socially distanced, such as looking for massive Runeberg tortes around the town. Pretty cool, huh?
The town is also known for one of Finland's largest continuous areas of old wooden houses, Skata. It’s so idyllic and has such a wonderful, intriguing history. It used to be home to many businesses, like this bakery, but these days it’s mostly residential.
Yes, I’m homesick.
